SBB Cargo 193 139 @ Breda-Prinsenbeek 🇳🇱

In Nederland was het plekje in het bos in Tilburg natuurlijk niet de start van onze trip😉

Neen, we waren de dag al goed gestart in de bekende boog bij Breda-Prinsenbeek waar de overwegbomen een kwartier na onze aankomst alweer sloten. We hadden 5 minuten eerder al een IC van Den Haag naar Eindhoven op foto, getrokken (en ook geduwd) door een TRAXX. Een snelle blik op de NS-app later leerde ons dat het nog net te vroeg moest zijn voor de ICD van Amersfoort naar Breda dus was het negen op de tien cargo-time!

En ja hoor, wat voor een cargo kwam daar de boog in! Niet minder dan de 1250ste Vectron, in de vorm van SBB Cargo 193 139 'Monte Rosa, verblijdde ons met een bezoekje. Voor mij was het dubbel en dik genieten nadat ik deze loc in september 2024 net miste bij doortocht in Dattenberg...

De dag was eigenlijk nu al meer dan geslaagd... al zou er wel nog veel leuks volgen natuurlijk 😇

In the Netherlands, the spot in the woods in Tilburg was, of course, not the start of our trip 😉

No, we'd already started the day well at the famous curve at Breda-Prinsenbeek, where the barriers closed just fifteen minutes after our arrival. Five minutes earlier, we'd already photographed an IC train from The Hague to Eindhoven, pulled (and also pushed) by a TRAXX. A quick glance at the NS app later told us it had to be just a tad too early for the IC train from Amersfoort to Breda, so it was nine out of ten cargo time!

And yes, what a load of cargo entered the curve! No less than the 1250th Vectron, in the form of SBB Cargo 193 139 'Monte Rosa, delighted us with a visit. For me, it was doubly enjoyable after narrowly missing this locomotive in September 2024 while passing through Dattenberg...

The day was already a real success... although there was still plenty more to come, of course 😇
