NMBS 2808 'de Feniks' @ Elewijt 🇧🇪

Na de foto van de European Sleeper had ik nog een dik kwartier de tijd in Elewijt voordat ik terug naar het station van Weerde moest stappen - mijn trein huiswaarts vertrok pas om 10u24 dus had het weinig zin om vanaf 10u al op het perron te zitten. Ik bleef dus nog wat op de brug wachten op wat komen ging, zeker nu het zonnetje ook nog volop scheen.

En ik kreeg een mooie bonus in de vorm van deze IC Amsterdam - Brussel met NMBS 2808 'de Feniks' als tractie. En dat is toch wel een bijzondere loc! Na een brandje in Maasdam op 25 oktober 2021 herrees de loc een dik jaar later uit zijn as en werd opnieuw in dienst gesteld als 'de Feniks'. Op initiatief van het personeel van de werkplaats Antwerpen-Noord kreeg de loc daarbij opvallende witte, rode en gele vlakken op het front.

De smalle blauwe lijn kreeg de locomotief dan weer (net zoals de overige 28'ers in de dienst op L4 trouwens) na een software-update in oktober 2023 en de lijn werd aangebracht om te vermijden dat er locs met een verschillend software-pakket aan kop en staart van de IC Brussel hangen.
Voor de volledigheid moet ik dus nog even zeggen dat achteraan NMBS 2807 'de Bliksem' een handje hielp.

An Intercity from Amsterdam to Brussels is seen in Elewijt. Next stop for the train will be Zaventem/Brussel Airport. In front of the train NMBS 2808, nicknamed 'the phoenix', in its special livery. The locomotive received this color scheme during an overhaul after a fire in October 2021.
