DBAG 101 037-0 @ Oberwinter 🇩🇪

We vertrokken op woensdag 19 oktober iets na 6 uur in onze woonplaats en zagen terwijl we richting grens reden de magische hemelkleuren voor zonsopkomst. Dat veranderde wel eensklaps toen we in Aachen waren: de zon verdween en maakte plaats voor mist en nevelvelden. Zou dat wel goedkomen? Gelukkig wel, al werden de webcams rond Remagen wel veelvuldig geconsulteerd onderweg!

Zoals eerder al gezegd, brachten we de eerste uren van de dag dus door in Oberwinter.
Ons allereerste plekje van de dag was evenwel op het klassieke punt aan de uitrit van het station maar toen EC 7 (met zijn ondertussen bij DB gebruikelijk vertraging) aan ons voorbijtrok, deed de zon nog verwoede pogingen om door het wolkendek te breken, alleen was de locomotief in het donker en de rest van de trein belicht - foto voor de vuilbak dus.

We moesten dan maar wachten op de volgende mooie trein en die kwam door om 10u17 - dus ook met iets minder dan een half uur vertraging - net na de MRB richting Mainz die - je raadt het nooit - ook met +/- een half uur vertraging reed...

Enfin, bij beide treinen (de Desiro's van MRB en deze InterCity 119) was de zon wel op afspraak en kon er een haakje gezet worden voor dit fotopunt ;-)

Het was trouwens niet de eerste keer dat ik deze 101 037-0 tegenkwam, al reed die de vorige keer dan wel nog in een licht andere gedaante rond!

October 19, 2022, my brother Steven and I made a day trip to the valley of the Rhine with its attractive lines on the left and right bank.

First stop was in Oberwinter on the left bank, where we only could watch EC 7 towards Interlaken (with the sun not at the right position) and luckily for us, take a picture of IC 119 towards Innsbruck moving south with as it seems to be nowadays the standard delay of +/- 30 minutes for DB Fernverkehr.
