Lokomotion 151 018-9 @ Rheindiebach 🇩🇪

Op woensdag 5 juni 2019 vertoefden mijn broer en ik een dagje aan de oevers van de Rijn. Het cargoverkeer kwam die dag wel wat traag op gang en we misten er dan ook nog een aantal door in Kaub op zoek te gaan naar nieuwe plekjes.

Maar met met deze fraaie trein van TXL werd de ban rond de middag gebroken en kon de fotodag nu goed beginnen.

We kregen niet veel later een tip dat de Ekol onderweg was vanuit Köln naar het zuiden (waarvoor dank), maar die zou wel links komen. Via de veerboot in Kaub werd er dus overgestoken om naar de plek in Rheindiebach te rijden.

En ja hoor, vijf minuten na de lokaal ging het sein weer open. Dat kon alleen maar cargo betekenen. We gokten op een gestreepte zwarte Vectron met de zuidwaartse Ekol omdat we zo een loc die ochtend naar Keulen zagen rijden.

De verrassing was echter compleet toen we zagen dat er een 151 uit de bocht kwam.

Het werd even nog spannend met de bewolking die voor de eerste keer die dag voor de zon begon te schuiven maar uiteindelijk kwam de Ekol door in een lekker lentezonnetje.

June 5, 2019, you could find my brother and I on the borders of the river Rhine. We didn't see that much freight trains but after this one of TXL the Ekol driven by a locomotive series 151 of Lokomotion - another private operator in Germany - was a great second one. It seemed to be a day with more quality than quantity 😅
