Exact een maand nadat we de vallei van de Elbe met een koffer vol lekkers en mooie herinneringen verlaten hadden, kon ik een pak dichter bij huis dit bijzonder treintje op foto zetten.

Via mijn contacten (waarvoor dank!) had ik namelijk vernomen dat er een halve kettinghor zou overgebracht worden van Aachen West naar Denderleeuw. Bovendien zou de trein via de oude lijn 50 sporen én getrokken worden door een ex-Captrain-Class66 die nu door RAILTRAXX gebruikt wordt.

Meer info had ik niet nodig om op deze bijzondere combinatie te jagen en ik trok dan ook richting Sint-Martens-Bodegem waar Noach (de ene helft van het duo TreinFoto België) al duchtig struikjes stond te snoeien. De andere helft (aka Finn) was trouwens ook nog op weg en na een telefoontje speelde ik dan ook nog even voor taxichauffeur en haalde ik Finn aan het station van Sint-Martens-Bodegem op.

Terwijl we gezellig babbelden, kwam Corentin ons ook nog vergezellen en zo klikten om 15u30 niet minder dan vier fototoestellen dit bijzonder transport ;-)

A freight train from Aachen to Denderleeuw, driven by a Class66 from RAILTRAXX (the locomotive was formerly leased by Captrain), is seen in Sint-Martens-Bodegem. Within ten minutes, the train will reach the end station in Denderleeuw.
