WW-2 U.S. Notebooks - a photo on Flickriver

            I may have these pictured elsewhere.

The marksman record book is from 1942 and is unused.  I can see my dad shooting the M1 and the 1918A2 BAR and scoring his hits in a book like this.  He was ranked a Sharpshooter with the M1 Rifle and M1 Carbine.  He was ranked Expert with the BAR.

The other book is an officer's notebook.  It has all kinds of information, but most of the pages are map keys to the symbols used on military maps.  I think I have seen 2 of these besides this one.  Both were priced in the $50 to $75 range and were in poor condition compared to this.  (I did not pay nearly that much for mine - lucky?)
This notebook is complete except a few of the lined pages at the back (for taking notes) have been torn out.
