            Always loved this spot - the gorgeous cloisters that lie between the quadrangles in the Neo-Gothic splendour of Glasgow University. 

The university is the fourth oldest in the English language world, being founded on January 7th, 1451, behind Cambridge, Oxford and Saint Andrews, although the splended neo-Gothic building which sits so prominently on the city's skyline is a Victorian creation., as the location has moved over the nearly six centuries it has been teaching (and like most other large univerisities, it has other buildings and campuses across the city for different departments, from the large water tank engineering and shipbuilding design lab to teaching in local hospitals and other specialist areas)
