Haverthwaite Station - Lake District.

            It's my Wife's birthday on Wednesday (no Wednesday Walk this week!  we are having a couple of days away ,so it's boats, trains and buses for us and we are enjoying every minute of it!
The station is on the preserved Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway.
The line and station opened on the 1 June 1869, with sidings and a goods shed. The station originally served the nearby village of Haverthwaite, Cumbria. 
Re-opened in 1973, the railway is staffed by a small permanent band of staff and very enthusiastic volunteers to keep it running for our pleasure.
