Viewed from within the Strathdearn cafe at Tomatin, ScotRail Class 170 No. 170426 crosses Findhorn Viaduct with 1H09, the 10:10 Glasgow Queen Street – Inverness service on 18th June 2021.

I called into the cafe for lunch and as soon as I walked in I saw this magnificent view and the opportunity for a photo of a train passing over the viaduct. I carefully selected a vacant table that would both give me sufficient view of the viaduct but also allow for inclusion of the furniture and fittings. Fortunately, just before the train arrived the lady sat down at the table by the window and glanced at the train as it crossed the viaduct.

A single shot with many adjustments in Lightroom, mainly using luminosity masks to adjust the high contrast between the outdoor and indoor components of the image.
