Campy Washington - a photo on Flickriver

Campy Washington

            Found in the Camp Washington neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio. Flying pigs are big in Cincinnati. The city  was once referred to as  Porkopolis because of the large number of meat packing plants. I remember my parents talking about pigs being driven through their street when they lived on York Street in the West End. Nobody seems to know how the pigs acquired wings. The tin man probably refers to a sheet metal factory in Camp Washington but reminds me of the moving tin man atop the Young and Bertke Company which I saw as a child attending Reds games at Crosley Field. The ape probably refers to the nearby costume store with an ape over the door.
