Once Upon a Time ( 4 ) - a photo on Flickriver

            Another, more intimate, image in the series dedicated to the joy of the assembly of people in freedom and fearlessness.

The darker more monochrome tones of this one is meant to harken the association back to vintage photography.  Yet there's the contemporary elements of digital montage, photo manipulation and effects that make it also, contemporary.

Not that I would ever wish to consider our right and freedom of assembly to ever become a piece of sealed off and completed history, but at the time of it's creation, with the new "Variants" appearing with alarmingly increasing frequency, it feels like scenes like this may just be a thing of the past - for a long time at least. Yet within the image there is joy and light.  We cannot forget.
