Santos Juanes is a Roman Catholic church located next to the Mercado in the Mercat district of the city. The church is also called San Juan del Mercado because of its location next to the central market. The Church of San Nicolás de Bari and San Pedro Mártir is one of the architectural treasures of Valencia. The church is a place of worship, so there is a time for the Mass and another one for the cultural visit. Known as the Valencian Sistine Chapel, don't miss the opportunity to visit it.

The Church of San Nicolás is a Roman Catholic parish church in Valencian Gothic style. In the middle of El Carmen, in the historic center of Valencia, this church has some frescoes and after restoration some paintings were discovered. The church was founded in the 13th century. It became a parish in 1242 and it was one of the first twelve Christian parishes in Valencia. The church represents the perfect combination of the Gothic style with the Baroque decoration. The interior of the church was completed between 1690-1693 and was decorated in Baroque style by Juan Pérez Castiel. In 1981 it was declared a National Historic Art Monument and it was not until the 21st century that its architectural and pictorial restoration began. Inside the church we can see frescoes, depicting the life of Saint Nicholas of Bari and Saint Peter Martyr, designed by Antonio Palomino. The main altar is another masterpiece of this church, which contains some images of the two saints.

Valencia is, net als de gehele regio Valencia, officieel tweetalig; men spreekt er zowel Spaans als Valenciaans. De kerk van San Nicolás de Bari en San Pedro Mártir is één van de architectonische schatten van Valencia. Bekend als de Valenciaanse Sixtijnse Kapel, mis de kans niet om deze te bezoeken. Het is een rooms-katholieke parochiekerk in Valenciaanse gotische stijl. In het midden van El Carmen, in het historische centrum van Valencia, heeft deze kerk enkele fresco's en na restauratie werden enkele schilderijen ontdekt. De kerk werd gesticht in de 13e eeuw. Het werd een parochie in 1242 en het was een van de eerste twaalf christelijke parochies in Valencia. De kerk vertegenwoordigt de perfecte combinatie van de gotische stijl met de barokke decoratie. Het interieur van de kerk werd voltooid tussen 1690-1693 en werd door Juan Pérez Castiel in barokstijl gedecoreerd. In 1981 werd het uitgeroepen tot Nationaal Historisch Kunstmonument en pas in de 21e eeuw begon de architecturale en picturale restauratie. Binnen in de kerk kunnen we fresco's zien, die het leven van Sint Nicolaas van Bari en Sint Peter Martyr uitbeelden, ontworpen door Antonio Palomino. Het hoofdaltaar is een ander meesterwerk van deze kerk, waarin enkele afbeeldingen van de twee heiligen staan.
