Apotzaga - a photo on Flickriver

Apotzaga

            Apotzaga es un pueblo muy pequeño, en realidad se trata de una anteiglesia (Una anteiglesia es un pueblo o distrito municipal que tiene su origen en las comunidades que se organizaban alrededor de una iglesia) de Eskoriatza. En esa barriada, junto a la iglesia de San Miguel, como mucho hay dos casas, y un poco más lejos tres o cuatro caseríos más. Desde su plaza, por encima de los espolones cubiertos de pinares, se domina la sierra de Aizkorri, los montes de Urrexola y Udalaitz, y más próximas las cotas de Asensiomendi, Murugain, y Aitzorrotz, este último peñasco dominado por la ermita de Santa Cruz, la que se dice protege todo el valle de Léniz de la tormenta y del pedrisco, y a la que se acude en romería a primeros del mes de mayo.
