Raspberry Pi Zero W X-Ray - a photo on Flickriver

This is a 'first light' image from my 'new', third-hand microfocus X-Ray unit.

The subject is a Raspberry Pi Zero W. I X-Rayed the fairly similar Zero v 1.3 here:

It's interesting to compare the results. The optical focus was a little off with this image (particularly on the right) and I haven't processed it nearly as hard as the previous version - which was actually 12 images summed together to reduce noise.

This is a single shot, though the X-Ray tube is nowhere near as powerful as the highly modified Scanmax 20 I also use. Typical exposures on the Scanmax, using a Nikon D700, are 6s, 50mm f/3.5, ISO1000. This image was 30s, 35mm f/4.5, ISO3200, this time using a D850. The camera sensor did not enjoy being bathed with X-Ray radiation and there were a lot of coloured speckles on the original image where pixels had been 'pinged' into saturation.

If anyone has a solid-state X-Ray sensor they'd like to pass on to a good home, please let me know...

And yes, on the face if it, it's an application where something like a Pi Zero W plus camera module would be a lovely way of capturing images. Unfortunately the light levels are far too low for the Pi camera: think in terms of 0.0001 lux or less, which I believe is several orders of magnitude lower than the Pi camera can see. And no, unfortunately, the NoIR version would not help.
