Smoo Cave with sunlight - a photo on Flickriver

            Smoo Cave in Durness, Scotland is dramatic enough on its own. But sometimes the sun shines at just the right angle to send a brilliant shaft of light from above the waterfall to illuminate the surface of the water - and the cave floor below. I had seen rare photos of this phenomenon but expected never to see it in person. It's breathtakingly beautiful. 

The rock formation on the centre right, lit in orange, is big enough to take a boatfull of tourists under the arch to explore the third chamber and beyond.
