Smoo Cave Second Chamber - a photo on Flickriver

            The underground lake is fed by the waterfall in the background. A boatload of tourists can be seen making their way to the rock arch on their way into the Third Chamber, which is rarely photographed well.

The shaft of sunlight in the foreground is a relatively rare phenomenon: it only occurs when the sun is in just the right position to shine through the small hole through which the waterfall enters the cavern. I have visited several times but this is the first time I've been lucky enough to see it. It's breathtakingly beautiful.
