Crab Spider with an Orthopteran for prey

            This is a Crab Spider (Mecaphesa, Thomisidae) with an Orthopteran for prey on an old seedhead of native Bird's Beak (Cordylanthus rigidus, Orobanchaceae) in the woods today.  I'm not sure if this prey is a cricket or a grasshopper.  It was windy this morning, and I did my best for this photo.  Arachtober 13.  (San Marcos Pass, 13 October 2025)
