Long-jawed Orb Weaver spider on cactus spine

            Here a tiny orb-weaving spider in the woods, but it's a Long-jawed Orb Weaver spider in the Tetragnathidae family instead of Araneidae.   Judging by the shape of its abdomen, I believe it is species Metellina mimetoides.  It's tiny, about 1/10 inch.  The spider was originally on its web, but went to the cactus spine when disturbed.  Arachtober 22.  (San Marcos Pass, 22 October 2021)
