Wild bee getting pollen from California Honeysuckle

            Here is a little wild bee (Anthophila, Hymenoptera) getting pollen from new flowers of California Honeysuckle (Lonicera hispidula, Caprifoliaceae).   These are normal flowers, but compare the aphid-galled flowers on the plant in my [Previous] photo which look very different.  I believe the bee is another Small Carpenter Bee in the genus Ceratina, a female that does have special pollen-collecting hairs on its hind legs though they are obscured here.  These are the first open flowers I've seen this year that I can actually get close to, growing on the wild edge of our garden.  (San Marcos Pass, 26 May 2020)
