Me and my Stalking Shadow - a photo on Flickriver

            I have a stalking shadow, that follows me wherever I go
The funniest thing about him, is the way he likes to grow
He is so very much like me, from my feet up to my head
But he likes to jump before me, and when I walk he jumps ahead!

Sometimes he darts in front, and becomes so very tall
Sometimes he becomes so little, where there's almost none of him at all
One morning I woke up very early, cause I am not a sleepy-head
The sun was not up yet, the dark was out instead
But my shadow was feeling lazy, he didn't follow, he stayed fast asleep in bed!

Now I know you don't believe me, it was something you had to see
I know my shadow isn't human, but he's real so let him be
You see my shadow is my best friend, my shadow will never flee
And it's comforting to know my shadow will always be there, I rely on him you see
My shadow is very loyal and honest, we work together in harmony
I love my ever-shifting shadow!
And I love the fact that my shadow, is Me ; )

Fun Facts:

Race horses have patches on their eyes so they won't be distracted by their shadow.

The little dot that shadows over the letter 'i' is called a tittle.
