Lady and the Cross - _TNY_0532 - a photo on Flickriver

This pretty large European garden spider (Araneus diadematus) female had built her net in the thuja hedge around our house and then chosen to sit on the inside of the web forcing me to actually stand inside the hedge to get anything but her underside as she was enjoying the freshly caught seven-spot ladybird (Coccinella septempunctata).
