            Two sculptures, Chabuca Granda & José Antonio de Lavalle y García sit in Barranco's Plazuela Chabuca Granda.

The plaza at the Bridge of Sighs  is named after Peruvian singer Chabuca Granda (María Isabel Granda Larco) who dedicated one of her songs to the bridge.

The horseman, José Antonio de Lavalle y García was the subject of another song of Granda.

The statues by Fausto Jaulis were unveiled 24 October, 1992.

Granda lived from 03 September to 08 March 1983.  Granda created and interpreted a vast number of Criollo waltzes with Afro-Peruvian rhythms.

José Antonio de Lavalle y García (04 November, 1888 to 17 May, 1957 was a Peruvian agronomist and horse breeder. He was the inspiration for Chabuca Granda's song José Antonio.
