2019 - Cambodia - Kampong Tralach - 12

            The final stop on our Avalon Siem Reap Mekong River cruise was to Kampong Tralach on Tonlé Sap River.

Making our way through Tralach community we passed the local Pagoda.  Like most  pagodas in Cambodia there is a stupa garden.

The stupa’s profile is extremely varied, depending on the epoch and country, but it is always recognizable, as if it has conserved within itself, through all its transformations, something permanent which characterizes it.  The structural stupa architectures have a tendency towards elongation and height.

Cambodian architecture influences the Southeast Asian stupa.
