Shamu Up Close (Explore'd!) - a photo on Flickriver

            The Shamu Up Close exhibit is fabulous! Brief presentations occur approximately once per hour and highlight SeaWorld's killer whale training, husbandry, and environmental enrichment. In this presentation, the whales were practicing the back dive behavior. Katina (pictured) and her juvenile offspring Makaio (hiding behind her) begin with a corner bow (pictured) followed by a back dive in center pool. Shamu Up Close is a temporary substitute for the One Ocean show at SeaWorld while they perform maintenance on the main show pool. (Whale is Katina)
