Green River Overcast - a photo on Flickriver

            One of the more memorable trips to Canyonlands I've experienced, this one was filled with bad weather.  An April storm that covered nearly the entire western US brought cold temperatures and dull grey skys.  The only thing worse than boring blue sky is boring grey sky.  We managed to catch a break in the cloud canopy long enough to allow a splash of warm light over the basin below.  The time spent in the cold waiting for this moment added to the drama I felt while I captured it.
