            This is the Freedom Tower, One World Trade Center seen across the water from the reflective walls of the 9/11 Empty Sky Memorial in New Jersey on a rainy evening. It has been a hard time in New York again. Earlier this year people were saluting emergency workers again, now in the face of the coronavirus pandemic. Again the air traffic was strangely quiet, again the ambulance sirens were wailing. The death toll from Covid-19 in New York alone has reached over 33,000, but as we again work toward recovery and healing, we pause to remember the lost and the heroes, and the brave rebuilding of lives and of the city after 9/11.
