Daisy Chrysanthemum - a photo on Flickriver

            Chrysanthemums originated in China and they were transported to Japan about 1500 years ago and then went to Europe in the eighteenth century.  Chrysanthemums still grow in the wild in China and Far Eastern countries in many different aspects, which include grasslands, riversides, mountain slopes, fields and along the seashore.  A couple of interesting facts I found out, which I thought other people might like to know, ‘The Chinese named their royal throne after the Chrysanthemum and the Japanese Imperial family use a Chrysanthemum Seal as the imperial seal of Japan,’ and ‘Chrysanthemum flowers are used to make Chrysanthemum tea in China.’  The Chrysanthemum plants of today come in a wide variety of different shapes, sizes and colour and they last such a long time either in the garden or as cut flowers.
