            A number of engineering problems, associated with the shape and the size of this architectural masterpiece, had to be solved. The roof shells were created as sections from a sphere rather than constructed individually. The arched roof is held by tension cables so that there are no columns inside the auditorium allowing unimpeded view of the stage and perfect acoustics.  The huge windows in the foyer, that enable people to enjoy the majestic scenery of the harbour, were made extremely strong by using laminated glass.
