Peeping Puffin - a photo on Flickriver

Peeping Puffin

Over the years, I’ve learned that one of the tricks involved in getting good wildlife photos is studying their behavior. This puffin was walking along the cliff’s edge, then he hopped down out of sight over the cliff side. Everyone stopped photographing him and put their cell phones and cameras down. But I kept my camera focused on that area, because I knew he hadn’t gone far. Less than a minute later, he popped up and looked my way. I like how he is just peeking up over the cliff’s edge, resulting in more of a unique capture.
