A Better Railway?

When Southern needed new stock to replace the 3 car 377's which were needed in London, instead of being allocated new trains Southern were given a set of stock which had been dispensed with by London Overground. 
In 2010 after a major refresh the 313/1's were reclassified as 313/2's and set to work on the Coastway services either side of Brighton. They were not popular as they lacked Air-Conditioning and more crucially toilets!
They did not last that long and were withdrawn in the wake of the Covid downturn in traffic in 2022/3 and the ability to redeploy stock from other Southern lines.
313215 departs from Bognor Regis with a service to Brighton on 5th October 2019.
Bognor is one of the few places that semaphore signals still exist on the Southern zone of Network Rail
