Theia did a lot of damage... - a photo on Flickriver

            One of my attempts at the "Macro Mondays" theme "Damage".

"Theia is a hypothesized ancient planet in the early Solar System that, according to the giant-impact hypothesis, collided with the early Earth around 4.5 billion years ago, with some of the resulting ejected debris gathering to form the Moon" (Wikipedia)

If this theory is true, you could say Theia really 'dug into' earth like a big spoon... (which is exactly what you see here) Not a good analogy? Well, you weren't exactly there to say for sure, were you?
