Brandywine Falls - a photo on Flickriver

Brandywine Falls

            Brandywine Falls plunges 230 feet (70 meters) over a basaltic lava cliff in beautiful British Columbia, Canada. There are a couple of speculative explanations as how Brandywine Falls was named. One is that a couple of railroad surveyors in the early 1900's made a bet on which one guessed closest the height of the falls with the winner receiving a bottle of brandywine and naming the falls. The other explanation is that in the late 1800's two gentlemen passed out at the falls after drinking too much Brandywine in their tea. For some warped reason I like the second explanation the best.
