Star Riot

            The Milky Way looms over the Sierra Buttes and Lower Sardine Lake. For my first attempt at astrophotography I decided to go to one of my most favorite of places. When my son and I arrived around 9:30 pm, I was a bit surprised to find 7 to 10 other photographers there. With the Milky Way being visible for about 4 1/2 hours, we all had plenty of time to wander around different locations at Sardine Lake Resort. For this composition, I lit the boats with light from the face of my cell phone for a few seconds. I wasn't quite sure at first how well that would work, but pleased with the results.
