Bacharach at Night - a photo on Flickriver

Bacharach at Night

            A view of the medieval town of Bacharach, Germany which sits on the Rhine River. I hiked up the trail that goes to the Stahleck Castle that sits above town. The trail follows along a portion of the ancient wall that surrounds the city. I found a spot where I could set-up on the top of the wall. The brightly lit ruin on the left is the Werner Chapel that was constructed around 1293. On the right of Werner Chapel is the Church of St. Peter. The two towers on the edge of town by the river are part of the wall that surrounds Bacharach. The illuminated tower is a hotel called Hotel Kranenturm and the other tower is called the Market Tower.
