The Thund'ring Finale - a photo on Flickriver

As we wrapped up an eventful evening shooting through a rainbow, a sandstorm, and burning skies, I decided to use some quiet time making a few abstracts in the end. To our surprise, there was a flash in some distance. We ignored the first and the second, but it grew louder and more epic. We knew we had to get out of the dunes; it was going to be pitch dark soon enough, but the urge to make that one last shot extended our stay by another hour, filled with these thunderous skies. I'm glad we were able to witness these unique conditions in the desert, the epic grand finale. Please be safe near stormy conditions. This was shot looking into a distant storm. Creative post-processing has been applied to the photograph for artistic expression.
