Urokko T1 - a photo on Flickriver

Urokko T1

            It was late 2214 and the team of (once) young Japanese engineers have done it again, for the third time. They built yet another different car on the same chassis they released ten years ago, keeping the much-doubted brand promise. The chassis was only visually the same, however.

T1 was explicitly built for open-wheeled track racing, and many racing teams saw a potentially dangerous rival in it. Car specs were intentionally kept secret until the very beginning of qualifications for the racing season in summer 2215. Its supreme aerodynamic profile, fish-like shaping and aggressive yellow livery were factors capable of terrifying competitors into returning to their drawing boards to squeeze out whatever efficiency there was left in their models.

On one hand, many doubted the T1. Being relatively inexperienced in the field of racing, Urokko had to put together a lightweight racecar with plenty of power and endurance. On the other, their 2208 Fishbone has already beaten several  (albeit regional) land speed records, indicating that the team were moving in the right direction. Some said T1 could have great chances of appearing in the top-5, while the majority guaranteed it at least a top-8 position.
