Metrolink 1010 - a photo on Flickriver

Metrolink 1010

            A shot of 1010 while on test prior to the official Metrolink opening a week or so later. It also shows the original layout of Market Street, post tramway construction, with bus access down the centre of the two tram lines and the tram stop at the side of what was then Lewis's. The tram stop for the opposite direction was around the corner on High Street. Subsequent revisions would see the central stretch of road given up for a new centrally placed platform and the existing stops replaced as a result.
