            Am Morgen

Im West verdämmert grau die Nacht,
Und wieder ist ein Tag erwacht,
Ein Milchwagen fährt zur Stadt,
Der Lust und Leid in Fülle hat.

Vom schmalen Fenster ziehe ich
Des Vorhanges schützendes Geheg,
Und überfluten sehe ich
Die Morgensonne meinen Weg.
