The Golden Mile 🚗💨💰 New Westminster, BC

Columbia Street turns left and heads northeast into the heart of downtown New Westminster. This historic stretch of road (once a dirt road) drew pioneers and prospectors into the lower mainlaind during the Gold Rush fever. The "Royal City" was established as the capitol of the Colony of British Columbia in 1859 and was also the first incorporated city in the province. Originally named "Queensborough", the city was renamed to "New Westminster" by Queen Victoria after the City of Westminster in London, England.
