Smew (Mergellus albellus) ♀ - a photo on Flickriver

            After arriving back home from Melbourne the light was terrible, so we were planning to stay in, but after lunch the light returned so we decided to check on the Smew at Swithland Reservoir about 8 minutes from us. 
We weren't expecting to see it, so I went scanning it usual patch and left camera in car. I got it almost straight away and it was closer than before, rushed back to get my camera, but couldn't relocate it, and when I did it was further out took a couple of record shots to prove it was still there.
