Bluethroat (Luscinia svecica) - a photo on Flickriver

            Taken at Willow Tree Fen LWT, near Tongue End, Lincolnshire.
Arrived around 8:30 when the sky cleared and the sun came out, the light was superb and so was the bird.
It turned windy so he kept to the reeds only coming out briefly. He eventually came out again in the field near the gate next to a large puddle, but by this time the light was very contrasty, stayed around until 12:30.
New digital species for me.

The bluethroat (Luscinia svecica) is a small passerine bird that was formerly classed as a member of the thrush family Turdidae, but is now more generally considered to be an Old World flycatcher, Muscicapidae. It, and similar small European species, are often called chats.
This is the red-spotted sub species.
