The Newbie - a photo on Flickriver

The Newbie

            Caledonian Sleeper liveried 47727 is seen standing at Glasgow Central prior to working 1M11 to Edinburgh. The service is being worked by a diesel tonight as it's diverted via the (currently) unelectrified Shotts line.

47727 was one of the 3 47s recently purchased by GBRf from Colas. The loco arrived in Scotland just over a month ago and is a recent addition to the Sleeper fleet. Since its arrival it's worked (in order) the Carstairs portion; a railtour; the Aberdeen portion & the Northbound lowlander. Pictured is its debut on the Southbound lowlander.

The loco is painted in CS' "Midnight Teal" colours, though it has not yet received the CS Stag logo.
