Klomanskop - a photo on Flickriver

Klomanskop

            Kolmanskop, the ghost town, Namibia. An abandoned town near Lüderitz after the shutdown of the mine of diamonds.

Diamonds can still be found in the desert south of Kolmanskop and the govrnement has declared this area a forbidden zone. Today diamonds are extracted offshore, on the Namibian coast. The Namibian governement and banks has invested in the largest ever built platform, boat, for that purpose.
