Alpine, the French sports car manufacturer, was established in 1955. Renault was its main customer and finally Renault bought Automobiles Alpine in 1973.
In the UK this Alpine V6 is known as Alpine GTA (Grand Tourisme Alpine).
The Alpine 2.5 V6 Turbo was based on the 1971-1984 Alpine A310, designed by Trevor Fiore (UK, 1937) and restyled in 1976 by Robert Opron (Fr., 1932-2021) and Peter Stevens (UK, 1943).
