Cool Dress For Hot Day At History Museum (1 of 5) – Home Mirror Check

            On May 10, 2022 the Missouri History Museum conducted a late morning presentation titled, “What’s The Word” that shared insights into the museum’s collection of St. Louis area LGBTQ+ community newsletters, newspapers and magazines dating from the 1960’s to the present day.

The weather forecast called for unseasonably warm daytime temperatures of 90 F / 32 C degrees, so in an attempt to keep cool, Ms. Essay chose this colorful dress with a sleeveless thin knitted bodice and pleated cotton cloth skirting that was accented with a red ribbon belt.

After getting dressed, Ms. Essay took a selfie using the reflection of a full-length floor standing mirror to check the symmetry of the dress and the position of the ribbon belt’s bow.
