Walstern, Jagdschloss Villa Walster - a photo on Flickriver

            Etwas oberhalb des Südufers vom Hubertussee ließ der österreichische Industrielle Arthur Krupp im Jahr 1896 dieses Jagdschloss errichten, dem er den Namen Villa Krupp gab. Als Jagdherr der gesamten Walstern wurde dieses feudale, Chalet-artige Anwesen seiner Position gerecht. 1910, also vier Jahre nach Aufstauung des Hubertussees, besuchte auch der jagd-närrische Kaiser Franz Joseph I. auf Einladung von Arthur Krupp dieses Jagdschloss. Nach dem Aussterben der österreichischen Familie Krupp erhielt das Jagdschloss den Namen Villa Walster und ist heute im Besitz der Österreichischen Bundesforste. Es kann für Hochzeiten, Seminare und andere größere Events gebucht werden.

Just above the southern shore of Lake Hubertus, the industrialist Arthur Krupp had this hunting lodge built in 1896, to which he gave the name Villa Krupp. As the hunting lord of the entire Walstern region, this feudal, chalet-like property did justice to his position. In 1910, four years after the Hubertussee was dammed, the hunting-crazy Emperor Franz Joseph I also visited this hunting lodge at Arthur Krupp's invitation. After the Austrian Krupp family died out, the hunting lodge was given the name Villa Walster and is now owned by the state-owned company Austrian Federal Forests. It can be booked for weddings, seminars and other larger events.
