Cellar window

            ...Hey someone's gotta clean this window.  This is the first barn, the unpainted McIntosh Dairy Barn, you encounter after you pass the old White House, which is open with all kinds of goodies I already captured but then this was another sky day. I see the Dickens barn through the window. Unlike my last at this location I decided why not look in the barn's cellar which was probably where they did the milking. Someone left a plastic Holstein in there and the birds have made a mess of it. I didn't know they made plastic milk except for the likes of WallyWorld. Anyway, the cow was as dirty as this window. It was placed to let in a pittance of afternoon light to prevent a braille dairying operation. Ha! 

I saw this sight and immediately took it as a challenge. I left the podzilla over in the parking lot and I was hand-holding in the black! Sounds good to me! I took this as a challenge because I KNEW I could do something with layers and resurrect something from it if I could hold it. I want to see if Jim has an old candle stick or kerosene light to stand in the left corner. Some big white cards (foam core) could bounce a little light in without looking bogus. Smaltzy yes, bogus no. I might even pack in the podzilla to ensure a shot. I have to do it before those I know steal my idea. I have no idea why this is so sharp. Luck, I guess; I sure wasn't going to prop the camera on the plastic cow.

The tube announced possible showers and when I saw the morning clouding coming around, I bailed out to #66 (not hay). This is the McIntosh-Lohr Farm Agricultural Museum on Highway #66, (not the same #66). I had by now dropped everything else. Though the clouding having been absent recently, they really popped the structures today but I still had to wait for the chickens to cross the road before they allowed me passage to the barnyard. I was just in time for the sky out there. I looked out of my window and jumped up, gathered my camera and split. I scored shots out here some years ago but the sky was a dud and I was using my old D70 a camera that had NO pixels to waste. The farm/museum is part way between Largemont and Hygiene, Colorado. Today, I can afford the time to stop and look over the old I ought to have spotted before. I bet though I'd better manage it soon today. They have added new venues and I am in a wandering mood. Here is one I let sit for some time; I have hundreds of captures awaiting edit. That day would later collapse to overcast, allowing time to start editing. There COULD be some time involved in editing. After I boiled the layers down to a TIFF, I edited to preserve the view, the interior and yet feature the dirt.

BoCo has gone far overboard on touchy-feely apparently. Mostly they buy leftover gravel pits for the BoCo aggressive, un-open space campaign to pound money into a mosquito breeding program when the holes fill with water.
