Barnyard a'busting_ - a photo on Flickriver

            Here is a shot of a farm on N #87th that has been in use a long time. I got my snap of the ditch cut ready to edit and poked north. Across the road from the ditch culvert snap was this farm fenced away. Later, I ran into Rick Hill at work on his manicured farm just north and explained why I foolishly started chasing the Longmont Supply Ditch project for more than just the name. He pointed out that the next ditch north was the "Rough and Ready" ditch. I related to Rick that when the Chicago settlers arrived, they started work on multiple diches, starting near Lyons. I wonder if it is possible to build a list? There must have been busy crews. Anything like the King Vidor depression area movie, "Our Daily Bread?" As I turned back, I saw a new view of his barn I didn't see before on the eDDie trek. Fortunately, I headed out on a day with building skies for backgrounds. I figured out that I couldn't miss with this foreground. 

I ventured out on  this early summer  trek around the new area to poke about before our global heat stroke. This area is now above normal spring rainfall. What a spring - Where? here? All the preciptation waited to tinkle on this side of the continental divide while Californians waited up and down the divide with pots and pans to scoop up what they could for the Colorado River Basin that is currently a wreck. Truly wise residents renamed it from the Grand River just before river compact discussions about useage shares. The broadcasters warn us of this area's impending growth spurts and more impending fuels for forest fires. What? Global warming? Longmont is doing its best to contribute. 

As of today, we are over 100% seasonal moisture in just this area. I decided to hide inside yesterday but hotter days are ahead! We got one whole week of spring. I understand, the majority of western states are now in a major water crisis as bad as the southeastern states are in a stupidity crisis. They will have to prove they want democracy.
