Elm ensilage - a photo on Flickriver

Elm ensilage

            This is a stab at editing a recent but somewhat older autumn capture to get it into finished backup storage. Is this the type of silo storage that the Hicks used for their grains? There were a lot of old silos on the original valley farms back when when farmers grew crops. These silos are closer to Highway #66 than the farm but they have been unused, except for some elm trees, and they are perhaps as old as the Hicks place, judging from the tree ring analysis. Apparently, I WAS paying attention while driving on #66. Interestingly, there are several area where silos are sprouting trees as a crop. Oh well, McDonalds is always open for a meal, such as it is. And after all, these particular silos are in current use. Ha! Well if you are a hick and have a surplus crop, you need storage. 

There are captures everywhere along paths on display in the Rockies. My days stretch out nicely as I travel about and find several photo hits on rural and some not-so-rural routes like Highway #66; some captures I like. Some take concentration and work. The days stretch out... but with many snaps already in my directories, pictures are everywhere. 

We struggled through a rubber band like late winter and spring but our rubber band summer has finally arrived in the Trumpendemic storm trooper laden valley where we now must even avoid our local parks with der Leader herd immunity if not their herd stupidity. Well, if they kill off all the infirm, there's more room and votes for them. Ahh, is this the last peerublican voting concept? Some say so. Egad, this must be a symbol of the state on America under four decades of tinkle down.
