City of Arts & Sciences, Valencia. - a photo on Flickriver

Photo taken during my first visit to Valencia, Spain. I think this must be the obligatory architecture shot if you visit there. However, there are many other buildings of all ages to admire.

The City of Arts and Sciences is situated at the southeast end of the former riverbed of the river Turia, which was drained and rerouted after a flood in 1957, the year of my birth. The old riverbed was turned into a picturesque sunken park.
